Sometimes Tea

We believe tea is more than just a drink - it's an experience.
We promise tea that contains natural ingredients only, no additives.

Why Loose Leaf?

There are two common ways to buy tea: either loose leaf or in tea bags. There's a big difference between the two! Tea bags are most often filled with lower-grade, ground up tea leaves known as tea dust or fannings. Loose leaf, on the other side of the spectrum, is made with whole leaves . When the tea leaf is allowed to expand properly during the steeping process you get greater health benefits and a more robust flavor. We focus on loose leaf teas at International Tea and Coffee Company because we believe it's a better product, and we hope your taste buds will agree!

How to Steep
Your Tea

Preparing loose leaf tea can seem like a daunting task when you first get into it. If you need a guide to start with please refer to this chart for some help, after some trial and error you'll determine exactly what works for you. Please keep in mind that certain teas will turn bitter if they are over steeped.

How Teas Originated

Did you know all tea comes from the same plant? The Camellia Sinensis plant is the base for all tea and the kind of tea it becomes depends on how it's processed. The leaves can be steamed or roasted, oxidized and fermented, all to different levels to create amazingly unique flavors.

Herbal teas, also called tisanes, do not contain the Camellia Sinensis plant. Instead they are made from single or blended ingredients such as herbs, fruit and spices. Most are naturally caffeine free, but some like Guayusa and Yerba Mate are high in caffeine and make great coffee replacements.
